Trip to Tofino and Monreal

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

Been awhile since I made a post. Since my last update I went to Tofino with Sarah to get away from some work and just relax. We stayed in this sweet bed and breakfast and just took it super easy. We went on a bunch of hikes in the woods and I used my flashes for the second time. It was really nice to get out of town and use my camera on a little road mission.

Logs,  About to get washed away by wave,   Pathway, and Tofino beach.

I also flew home (Montreal) unexpectedly for my great grandmother’s funeral, 97 years old. It was a good time for her to go, she lived a great healthy life.  While I was in Montreal we got dumped with snow.  March 8th, was the funeral so my folks, bro and I commuted to Lachute for the ceremony and then I ended up getting dropped off in Avila for Axis slope-style contest. The finals were actually cancelled to harsh snow conditions. I caught up with some old buds and had one hell of a pow day on Avila, which doesn’t happen often. So I started heading home with my bud Mike in the snow storm, we ended up having to take a detour since the highway was closed. After an hour or so on the road in deep snow Mikes tranny started to slip. Mike had fixed his tranny a few times and was bummed to see that he would have to fix it again. We debated just going to his house and making other arrangements for me to get home, but I convinced him to go for it. So as soon as we pull off at my exit his car dies in the middle of an intersection. Long story short, its midnight and we leave the car overnight and call CAA to get it towed. We end up waiting at my house for a phone call but end up passing out, we wake up the next day and 18 hrs later CAA is still backed up towing cars out of ditches. So we call all the private tow companies in the book and finally find one to help us. I was planning on getting some fresh turns with my pops, but am pretty beat dealing with the car. The rest of my trip was a blast, it always is nice to come home to see my folks and old friends.
